Operator of a Diving Project
The Guideline Operator of a Diving Project explains the relationship between the diving contractor and the operator of a diving project, and who is responsible for approving a diving project.
Diving Guidelines
The Petroleum (Submerged Lands) (Diving Safety) Regulations 2002 - Diving Guidelines (the DSR Guidelines) give guidance on meeting the requirements of the Petroleum (Submerged Lands) (Diving Safety) Regulations 2002 (DSR) for offshore petroleum exploration and production activities involving diving in Commonwealth waters and also in State and Territory coastal waters that have mirror legislation with the Commonwealth DSR.
The DSR Guidelines were last revised in March 2004 and require a revision to include the changes that came into force with the introduction of NOPSA on 1 January 2005.
Guideline Revision
The revision to the DSR Guidelines will mainly concern the administrative changes caused by the introduction of NOPSA. These changes will in effect involve the substitution of NOPSA, for the Designated Authority (DA) referred to in the current version (Rev. 0). There may be some changes to do with the guidance on reporting of incidents and changes to other parts of the DSR Guidelines to reflect latest information.
The revised DSR Guidelines will be issued by NOPSA and be available from this (NOPSA) web site when completed. The existing DSR Guidelines issued by the Department of Resources, Energy and Tourism (RET) are available from the RET website.
Register of Diving Safety Management Systems and Diving Project Plans
Regulation 13 of the DSR requires NOPSA to make available a register of original and revised Diving Safety Management Systems (DSMS). A current Register of Diving Safety Management Systems and Diving Project Plans is maintained on this website.
